چکیده

This paper deals with the design ripple-free deadbeat controllers for sampled-data systems. Given a prescribed settling time, the design problem is tackled by computing a ripple-free deadbeat controller that optimizes an H2 performance criterion. This criterion accounts for the quality of the tracking response and for the control energy necessary to achieve the deadbeat behavior. Our main result shows that the optimal performance improves as the settling time grows, revealing a fundamental tradeoff inherent to this control technique.

Multivariable Ripple-Free Deadbeat Control

The design of multivariable ripple-free deadbeat controllers is a complex task. One approach which has shown promise for solving multivariable ripple-free deadbeat control (MRFDC) problems is the use of Diophantine equation parameters. The problem of solving robust multivariable ripple free deadbeat with time delays has not been solved. This paper proposes a hybrid two degree of freedom control...

Two objective optimal multivariable ripple-free deadbeat control

This paper presents novel results on optimal multivariable deadbeat control. Given a discrete-time, stable, linear and time invariant plant model, we give a simple parameterisation of all stabilising ripple-free deadbeat controllers of a given order. The free parameter is then optimised in the sense that a quadratic index is kept minimal. The optimality criterion has the advantage of accounting...

In this paper, an state-space approach to deadbeat servomechanism design is proposed using multirate input control. This paper focuses advantage of multirate control over conventional single-rate control. To achieve settling time specified, multirate controllers require less frequent sampling of measurement than single-rate ones. Multirate input mechanism can yield shorter settling time than si...

Performance Comparisons between PID and Adaptive PID Controllers for Travel Angle Control of a Bench-Top Helicopter

This paper provides a comparative study on the performances of standard PID and adaptive PID controllers tested on travel angle of a 3-Degree-of-Freedom (3-DOF) Quanser bench-top helicopter. Quanser, a well-known manufacturer of educational bench-top helicopter has developed Proportional Integration Derivative (PID) controller with Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) for all travel, pitch and yaw ...

Design of QFT-Based Self-Tuning Deadbeat Controller

This paper presents a design method of self-tuning Quantitative Feedback Theory (QFT) by using improved deadbeat control algorithm. QFT is a technique to achieve robust control with pre-defined specifications whereas deadbeat is an algorithm that could bring the output to steady state with minimum step size. Nevertheless, usually there are large peaks in the deadbeat response. By integrating QF...
